POPIA Privacy Notice

This notice supports the obligations of Selio (Pty) Ltd t/a LunSa Loans under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) when processing personal information of applicants, customers and website users.

2. Lawful processing

We process personal information only where a lawful basis applies — for example contract (credit application/agreement), legal obligation (NCA / regulatory), legitimate interests compatible with your rights, or consent where required (including certain marketing).

3. Special / sensitive information

Where we process ID numbers, financial information or other sensitive categories, we limit access, log activity where appropriate, and retain only as needed for lending, compliance and dispute resolution.

4. Your POPIA rights

  • Be notified that personal information is being collected
  • Access personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion where appropriate and legally permitted
  • Object to processing in certain circumstances
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator

5. Cross-border transfers

If personal information is transferred outside South Africa (for example cloud hosting), we will do so subject to POPIA transfer conditions and appropriate safeguards.

6. Operators

Service providers acting as operators process information under our authority and must maintain confidentiality and security standards consistent with POPIA.

7. How to exercise your rights

Email the Information Officer with enough detail for us to verify your identity and respond. PAIA-related access requests may also follow the process in our PAIA Manual.
